Online Auction or Live-Webcast Auction?

Jan. 2 2024 News By J&J Auctioneers

Have you ever had a hard time figuring out what kind of auction you're seeing advertised? We use some key words that can help eliminate some of the confusion, and we would like to share them with you as we approach a cluster of different kinds of auctions.

Live-Webcast - Everyone's favorite auction with the best of both worlds! You can be a part of all the action on the ground with this type of auction or bid completely online. There is an auctioneer taking bids on the ground and all the items are here in person. We t have food and drink trucks on site to help keep you refreshed throughout the day. These auctions are now becoming part of a two-day event, with Ring Two being held entirely online on the day after Ring One. For these auctions, consignments are taken until the Saturday before the auction, and inspection begins that same day and goes until the Friday before the auction. Loadout for these auctions is done the week following the auction.

Online - These auctions are a little easier and trickier at the same time. These can be broken down into two types: Single and Multi Consignor Auctions.

  • Single Consignor Auctions - Typically held on-site at their location with a specified day for inspection, a day for online bidding, and a specific timeframe for loadout.
  • Multi Consignor Auction - These are our "Sells where it sits" auctions with items located throughout Colorado and New Mexico. The items in these auctions might be sold from the consignor's location or from our Albuquerque Yard. Inspections for items outside of the yard are made by appointment, but we still have the typical one week of inspection for items in the Albuquerque Yard. Loadout is scheduled by appointment with the consignor directly, following payment, or by appointment at the Albuquerque Yard for items stored there.
